10.10.18 JoKwon The Actor's First Day: MBC Daily Sitcom All My Love Shooting + Confessions of A Fan

Kwon tweeted that today would be his first day shooting the new MBC Daily Sitcom "All My Love", and as we all know this will be his first official foray into the acting world. Also acting in the sitcom as his twin would be his WGM partner Brown Eyed Girls' GaIn and also MC/Comedienne/Actress Park MiSeon who is probably best known to the international audience for being the MC on We Got Married Season 2,Sebakwi and also Happy Together, who is going to act as Kwon's mother.

The script book for Kwon's first ever acting debut - daily sitcom All My Love
From the beginning when the "rumours" first broke that Kwon will be acting in a new sitcom (as one of the main actors ) scheduled to air in November, I was already feeling disheartened and unsure of what to make of it,as I was considering the fact that 2AM was supposed to be promoting their first full album in late October which means by early November their promotional activities should already be in full swing.Looking back at Kwon's personal schedule for the past 9 months in 2010 he BARELY had any rest or holidays;the man was constantly fulfilling his job schedules day in and day out despite the time that 2AM wasn't officially promoting their music anymore(ie: post-I Did Wrong goodbye stages) that I didn't even want to consider him being part of a DAILY sitcom when he has just started officially promoting his music again AT THE SAME TIME.

For those not in the know,Daily Sitcoms productions in S.Korea have one of the most GRUELLING schedules ever, even worst that productions of regular dramas that aired for 2 nights in one week. For the obvious reason that Daily Sitcoms episodes are aired every single day during weekdays, there are a lot of footages required and shooting goes almost non-stop during the week,to provide more footages to be aired in the next few days. Now put into consideration that JoKwon has top-billing in this sitcom as he is one of the main characters and that means he is required in quite a lot of scenes as compared to if he was starring in this sitcom as a side character.Granted that in sitcoms not all characters are given a whole lot of screen time for one whole episode during it's entire run of 6 long months(as it will follow the storyline and at certain points and times different characters will be the focal point) but as a main character and during the early stages of the broadcast where the foundation of the story is being toldl, there is no question that Kwon's character will be appearing a lot in the episodes from the start. And let's be realistic that shooting a sitcom/drama is no joke;the process can go for very long hours with actors lacking sleep and rest the whole time they were shooting the project. And this becomes even worse when the scene calls for an outdoor shoot;being out in the cold for long hours straight can take its toll on even the strongest man, just imagine doing that day after day while ALSO going on music shows and recording for long hours and promoting on live radios at the same time.

The shooting schedule as a main character in a daily sitcom as it is already makes Kwon a VERY busy man but  let's add the schedules of promoting 2AM's new album to that;now THAT makes me one very worried fan.For a professional singer one of your utmost concern would be the condition of your throat and the quality of your voice as you sing, and some singers are very well-known for practicing the "no talking" principle before and on the day of an important performance just so they could "rest" their vocal chords and prepare themselves to be in the best physical condition before going on stage. And I'm sure for the comeback promotions of a full album two long years in the making that  2AM boys wants to deliver only the best performances to their eagerly awaiting fan, plus it has been the talks that the songs in the new album challenges the boys as singers as never before that they needed extra vocal lessons nowadays;that should tell us how important this comeback promotions is going to be.

Now,if Kwon wasn't part of the new sitcom I could be comforted by the fact that he will AT LEAST have some breaks in between his already crazy schedules to rest and be in the best condition a (very wildly busy)singer could be for an important comeback, but now that the mighty sitcom schedules has been added into the picture, and said singer is not just a singer but also an important actor for a daily sitcom,I am not so sure anymore.Just thinking about how he will be on outdoor shooting locations out in the cold, saying the same lines over and over and over again as he shoots scenes after scenes and episodes after episodes just leave me cringing, really. There is NO WAY he could take care of his vocal chords as good as he would've been able to had he not been part of the sitcom,I just can't kid myself about this fact right here. The lack of sleep, the lack of rest, the over-usage of his vocal chords, plus the amount of pressure he feels as an idol going into his first attempt to be a real actor, surely that will somehow take it's toll on him whether we want to admit it or not.

BEG's GaIn who recently came out with her first solo effort after debuting as a group for 4 years even limited her promotional activities for only ONE full month to concentrate on her sitcom project and her company decided that she will not be promoting any follow-up songs off her mini-album for the sake of her doing well with the sitcom. And Son GaIn already had prior acting experience from being in a major motion picture previously. At the other end of the spectrum however, not only is Kwon making his VERY important comeback  with a FIRST major album- not a mini album - during the final week of October, only a FEW DAYS later JoKwon will also be making his FIRST EVER debut as an actor in a daily sitcom, plus he will also be promoting DOUBLE TITLES for this round of promotional activities. Not only that 2AM has a Concert Tour to get ready for as the tour series will begin in December, and because of all this I can't help but wonder if his management Big Hit Entertainment was being too ambitious when they drew up his schedules.

I really am happy and beyond pleased for Kwon that he landed this very important role in a daily sitcom;something that a lot of other young idol group members can only dream of.News mentioned that many other idols auditioned for this sitcom, and he made it for the role in the end,and as a fan there is no way you don't feel proud of him on that achievement. The exposure one can get from being a main actor on a daily sitcom is priceless, some obscure young actor with no acting background he could be proud of can immediately shoot into superstar-ish level of awareness and recognition in the nation if he did it right in a well-loved and well-watched sitcom. But then again, the level of fame that Kwon already has right now in his country is already quite high for an idol group membered who has only debuted for 2 years;he is no longer some unknown figure to the public eyes (his Twitter is curently ranked the 7th with the most follower in the country),any news articles about him quickly make it to the #1 most read article position within an hour on portals like Nate and Naver, and it made me wonder if it was necessary for his management to make him take part in a daily sitcom RIGHT NOW.There are so many things that I'm so glad Kwon can do very well, acting being one of them and I probably would have whooped with joy had this sitcom gig started in January or February next year or something, and this is something that I really regret - that he was given such an incredible opportunity, but the timing is really off - like it couldn't have come at a worse time for him.

A fan at DCmarried gallery posted this generalized "schedule" that Kwon will be on once he started shooting the sitcom AND promoting the FULL album, and by generalized we are not including those events performances that 2AM does like it's nobody else business week in and week out, and those long "secret" photo shoots for magazines and CFs:

    • Thursday evening: Sebakwi taping.(7-9 hours long)

  •  Repeat from Thursday's Schedule again.

Now,tell me that you don't get exhausted just LOOKING at this schedule.Kwon ain't no robot but when you look at this and you see him actually go through the motions and fulfill it all,it does make you wonder if those rumours about him having batteries put inside his body IS true.Fans worried and hoped he won't be fainting or put on drips on emergency trips to the hospital almost weekly, but then again, after all has been said and done, that's all we can do as fans can do.Worry for him, pray that he'll stay healthy and not get sick, and most importantly,SUPPORT him with all our hearts.Because that's ALL we can do anyway.

So to our handsome JoKwon the 2AM Leader who is making his comeback soon,JoKwon the Actor who is shooting his debut sitcom for the first time today - Good luck and may only the best awaits you!Take care of yourself cuz we believe in you and we know you'll make it through.Much love.

I know 2AM esp Jo Kwon is in his PEAK of career, but don't they think that artist health is waaayy more important. Hearing the album teaser, sooo great that i have goosebumps whole my body. And the fact that Kwon reach higher tone for his part, that nedds more fit vocal chord.
